Recently, the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics is full of sustainable designs, and the appearance of environmentally friendly materials such as recycled plastics is a highlight.

In the Adidas Stadium and Olympic Aquatics Center in Paris, a total of about 11,000 recycled plastic seats were installed, and environmentally friendly seats made of recycled HDPE were used, which will consume about 100 metric tons of waste plastics. They are provided by a French ecological construction company, which obtains recyclable plastics from more than 50 recyclers. Through a series of operations such as sorting, cleaning, crushing, and thermocompression molding, hundreds of tons of renewable plastics are converted into particles, fragments, and then into boards. Most of these materials come from plastic bottles and bottle caps, and finally made into seats.

The podium is made of wood and 100% recycled plastic. The recycled plastic mainly comes from shampoo bottles and colored bottle caps. After processing, it is made into white and gray panels, covering 68 100% recyclable podiums.

The purple track built for track and field competitions in the Stade de France is a novel color and uses environmentally friendly materials such as natural rubber, mineral components, pigments and additives, of which about 50% of the materials come from recycled or renewable resources.

In addition, the athletes' beds are made of cardboard and the mattresses are made of recycled fishing nets, which facilitates the recycling of resources after the game.
