Ascend Performance Materials has begun operating a new thermal reduction unit (TRU) that is expected to cut more than 98% of greenhouse gas emissions from adipic acid production in Pensacola, Florida.With the added controls, this new equipment builds on the improvements Ascend is making in 2021, bringing its greenhouse gas reduction investment to $50 million at the world's largest integrated nylon plant.
