Recently, Celanese announced the launch of a new bio-based thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) Hytrel TPC RS40F2 material. Celanese said that after foaming, the material is very suitable for sports shoe applications.

According to reports, the RS40F2 material foamed by the physical supercritical fluid (SCF) foaming process contains at least 20% bio-based ingredients, which helps support sports shoe brand owners and manufacturers to achieve sustainable development goals. Bio-based ingredients can be verified by the C14 method. At the same time, the pure white foamed bio-based RS40F2 is very suitable for the midsole components of sports shoes because it can achieve lightweight while improving energy feedback performance and has excellent rebound and elasticity similar to other Hytrel TPC grades. In addition, the RS40F2 material can be colored according to design requirements while maintaining its original properties.
