Brazil makes preliminary anti-dumping ruling on phthalic anhydride from China

On July 5, 2024, the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil issued Announcement No. 31 of 2024, making a positive preliminary anti-dumping ruling on phthalic anhydride (Portuguese: anidrido ftálico) originating from China, and recommending that a temporary anti-dumping duty of no more than 6 months be imposed on the products involved in the case from China, with a tax amount of US$155.16-696.41/ton (see the attached table for tax details). The investigation deadline for this case will be extended by up to 8 months from December 9, 2024. The announcement will take effect from the date of publication. The Mercosur tariff number of the product involved is 2917.35.00.
